5×8", spine size 0.588" (246pp.).
The cover, designed in collaboration with the translator, features an enlarged display of Baudelaire’s signature (found in one of his manuscripts) which I digitized in vector graphics for scalability and expressive use. The title is set in LS Quasimoda Black, a partly geometric, partly grotesque typeface that a combines modern geometric forms with old-fashioned classical proportions. The extra bold weight was also selected in order for the type to mask the drawing Riot Scene by Honoré Daumier (1871).
